The U.S. Women’s National Team has announced the 23 player roster for the upcoming SheBelieves Cup. The team will compete against Argentina, Brazil, and Canada in the tournament.
The SheBelieves Cup will kick off on Feb. 18-24 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida. There are a few changes from the January camp and here’s what you need to know:
It’s not set in stone who is considered the second goalkeeper. Alyssa Naeher will most likely be the starter, but after that, it’s a toss-up. For years, Ashlyn Harris has been the number two, but that could be changing with some younger players emerging.

Aubrey Bledsoe and Ashlyn Harris were on the roster for January camp, but not for the SheBelieves tournament. For this camp though, it’ll be Jane Campbell and Casey Murphy joining Alyssa Naeher.
Murphy received her first senior call up in 2018 but has yet to earn her first cap. She was also part of the December ID Camp under head coach Vlatko Andonovski in 2019.
Perhaps the most notable absence is Tobin Heath. She suffered an ankle injury while with Manchester United and will be out for 10-12 weeks. It’s a huge blow for the U.S. and Heath who has been playing well in England. It looks like the earliest Heath would make her return is in April.
Andi Sullivan also picked up an injury in training, she was a part of the January camp but has been dealing with a quad injury.
Mallory Pugh has also been dealing with some injuries, so she wasn’t named to the SheBelieves tournament roster, but she will be in camp for training.
Alex Morgan and Christen Press are returning to the team after missing January camp. Morgan missed due to COVID-19 protocols after she tested positive over the holidays. Press chose to stay in England with Manchester United instead of participating in the last camp to recover from an illness (not COVID related). Morgan and Press are key pieces in the attack and forward lineup, so I’d expect to see them both get some time during the tournament.
Press has been in tremendous form for the national team, she was tied for the team leading most goals scored in 2020. She featured in all nine games of 2020, registering seven goals and three assists.
