Border Fuel’s NBA Power Rankings; 3-2-21

1. Jazz

The Jazz has been great this season. They currently hold the best record in the East and the best record overall in the NBA.

2. Nets

The Nets are playing some great basketball. James Harden is playing at an MVP level right now.

3. Lakers

The Lakers have been without Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder for the past few weeks. They have struggled but are still a very good basketball and got Schroder back in their win later this against the Trail Blazers.

4. Suns

The Suns are playing some great basketball right now sitting fourth place in a very tough Western Conference. Chris Paul is having another great season and Devin Booker is having a good season as well.

5. Bucks

The Bucks have been playing some good basketball lately, and the Greek Freak is in the MVP conversation after having an amazing month of February.

6. Clippers

Kawhi and PG having great seasons for the Clippers. They also are a top-three seed in the very good Western Conference.

7. 76ers

The 76ers have the best record in the NBA but have been up and down this season. Joel Embiid is having an MVP season and Ben Simmons is having a great season.

8. Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers are having a good season. Dame is playing great having the most clutch points in the NBA. Melo is also having a good season for the Blazers and is a big reason for their success this season.

9. Spurs

The Spurs are the surprise team in the NBA this season; they are really exceeding expectations this year.

10. Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are starting to play better and look like the team they were last year. It will be interesting to see if that can continue.

11. Celtics

The Celtics are a team that has dealt with Covid and injuries this season but are starting to get healthy. Like the Raptors the Celtics are starting to play better as well.

12. Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are being carried by their point guard Steph Curry who is having a great season. The Warriors are definitely a team too look out for in the future once they get Klay back.

13. Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are having an up-and-down year. I expected much more from them this season considering all the talent they have and an MVP candidate in Nikola Jokic.

14. Mavs

The Dallas Mavericks like the Nuggets are having an up and down year I expected more from them this season. However they are coming off a huge win vs The Nets on Saturday in Brooklyn.

15. Heat

The Miami Heat have been playing better as the season goes on will be interesting to see how they look after the All-Star weekend. They are still not fully healthy which is concerning.

16. Pacers

The Pacers have struggled lately they were around the top-ten in power rankings for a while but have quickly not looked like the same team lately.

17. Knicks

The New York Knicks are in the playoffs in a very weak Eastern Conference. Randle is having a great season and is a big reason the Knicks are even in playoff contention.

18. Hornets

They are up and down this season and under .500, but they have a very bright future with Melo as their point guard.

19. Grizzlies

The Grizzlies have a bright future will all the young talent and Ja Morant has looked great this season. The Grizzlies could still make the playoffs at a 7 or 8 seed.

20. Pelicans

The Pelicans have a bright future like the Grizzlies. They have a chance to make the playoffs but are not living up to expectations many had before the season.

21. Magic

The Magic have been up and down this season but have gotten a few wins in the past few weeks. The Magic are definitely an interesting team to watch moving forward and in the future.

22. Wizards

The Wizards are starting to play better and Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal look to be gaining chemistry. Could be a sleeper team in the Eastern Conference.

23. Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have a bright future their young talent has played alright this season. Zach Lavine is having a great season for the Bulls been one of their only bright spots.

24. Hawks

The Hawks have dealt with injuries and we really haven’t seen them at full strength this season. It will be interesting to see what they look like at full strength.

25. Thunder

The Thunder have struggled this season and are clearly in a rebuild with all their draft picks over the next few years.

26. Kings

The Kings like the Thunder are struggling this season, but have some really good young players in Fox and Bagley to build around in the future.

27. Rockets

The Rockets have struggled since trading James Harden away and seem to be headed for a complete rebuild.

28. Pistons

The Pistons are having a rough season and are looking to move on from Blake Griffin.

29. Cavs

The Cavs are struggling, but they have a bright future and a lot of young talent.

30. Timberwolves

The Timberwolves just hired a new coach. They have really struggled this season they have dealt with Covid and injuries this season which has made it tough to build team chemistry.
