Carmelo Anthony of the Portland Trailblazers has climbed to No. 13 on the NBA’s all-time scoring list after dropping 21 points against the Washington Wizards. Melo passed Dominique Wilkins to take No. 13 on the list; Carmelo currently is sitting at 26,697 points for his career.
Carmelo Anthony’s career was once thought to be over because he couldn’t accept a bench role. Fortunately for Carmelo, he was eventually able to accept his new role and stay a productive NBA player; he is currently averaging 12.6 ppg. If Melo continues his current scoring pace he should be able to pass Oscar Robertson (26,710) and Hakeem Olajuwon (26,946) by this season or next.
Carmelo Anthony can get into the top ten of the all-time scoring list before his career is fully over by passing Elvin Hayes (27,313). It will be interesting to see if Melo can achieve this feat as he adds on to his possible Hall of Fame career.
