The Las Vegas Raiders, who have had a litany of COVID-19 issues this season, are about to have a piece of their defense missing Sunday in their matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Cornerback Lamarcus Joyner, who was at practice on Friday, has now been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list and will not play Sunday night.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Joyner came into close contact with defense end Clelin Ferrell before a positive test by Ferrell this week. This is a big blow to the Raider’s defense as they try to get a second win against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Joyner is the third leading tackler on the Raider defense with 46 and has been an important piece in the Raider’s 6-3 start.
The Raiders had safety, Jonathan Abram, defensive tackle Marek Collins, Johnathan Hankins, Kendal Vickers, defensive end Arden Key and cornerback Isaiah Johnson all on the reserve/COVID-19 list this week.
As of Friday, they had all been cleared and will be in uniform for the game against the Chiefs. The Raiders and Chiefs will kickoff at 8:20 PM Sunday on NBC.
