The biggest game of the year is finally here. The Kansas City Chiefs are facing off against the Tampa Buccaneers for Super Bowl LV, and some of the Border Fuel Staff have you covered for their picks and predictions.
This game has headlines aplenty. The legacy of both Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady is on the line. The Chiefs starting a new dynasty is a hot topic. Whether Brady can win a Super Bowl without Bill Belichick or not is being asked.
There are also intriguing matchups everywhere you turn. Brady vs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, the Chiefs banged-up offensive line vs the Bucs pass rush, the Bucs WRs vs the Chiefs’ secondary, and, of course, Brady vs Mahomes.

This game is going to be extremely hard to predict, but we at Border Fuel are here to just that. Here are some of the staff picks and predictions for the game:
Justin Dueppengiesser: Kansas City 34 Tampa Bay 27
This game is going to be close the whole way. Brady and Arians are too talented for it not to be. However, Pat Mahomes is going to get the job done at the of the day. I would expect the ball in his hands early and often in this one. He will also hoist the Super Bowl MVP trophy once again.
Ken Filler: Tampa Bay 31 Kansas City 28
“My big key to this game is going to be the Bucs front seven versus the Chiefs offensive line- a matchup that a lot of people are overlooking. The Bucs have Vita Vea back on the defensive line; he did not play the last time these two teams met. He will draw a lot of attention, which will free up edge rushers Shaq Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul to get to the QB. We saw that in the Green Bay game where those two had five sacks. Tackle Eric Fisher is out for KC. This could be problematic for the Chiefs.
Caleb James: Kansas City 37 Tampa Bay 27
KC takes the ball away from Tampa a few times.
Eric Peoples: Kansas City 35 Tampa Bay 17
KC defense takes over and locks down Tampa Bay wideouts and Mahomes and the offense will do what they do.
Mark Ross: Kansas City 41 Tampa Bay 27
KC defense continues its fine playoff play and allows Patrick Mahomes and company to get the job done.
Jack Murray: Tampa Bay 28 Kansas City 24
I feel like Brady winning a home Super Bowl is a narrative that is meant to exist and the Bucs are also still peaking on both sides of the ball. Plus, Brady has never been involved in a blowout Super Bowl result. While every game is different, I feel like this is a one-possession difference either way.
Robin Adams: Kansas City 33 Tampa Bay 24
Hunter Stanton: Kansas City 34 Tampa Bay 24
Tayyib Abu: Kansas City 33 Tampa Bay 20
Donovan Kazmouski: Tampa Bay 34 Kansas City 31
These are just some of the predictions we have. As you can see, there isn’t a consensus. Who do you have lifting the Lombardi on Sunday?
