Now, as a superstar with the spotlight that he has, that’s hard to do. But that’s not why we’re thanking him today. We’re thanking him for saying something that the WWE universe has been saying for years: Stop relying on older talent!
Now, don’t get me wrong. Every once in a while when the WWE runs out of creative ideas, then MAYBE they can bring a legend from the past back. That would make sense. Not this thing that’s going on now with the return of Goldberg, John Cena, and Edge in these big time championship pictures. And I get it, they’re legends of this industry chasing even more accolades.
What’s In It for Them?
Cena wants the all-time championship record, Edge wants something he feels he never lost, and Goldberg I guess just wants the padding stats he never got back in the day. Which is cool and all but where does that leave room to grow? You know, for the Big E’s, Kevin Owens, Riddles, and Damian Priest’s of this roster? Will they ever get the opportunities they deserve with legend after legend constantly returning?
Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. And with reportedly The Rock and Brock Lesnar rumored to be returning as well, things may get worse and worse. Here’s hoping John Cena’s platform and stardom alone can help the WWE universe’s voice be heard. If Vince will hear anyone out, it’s John.
