In the early minutes of the second half of the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Football Team’s matchup, Bengals’ rookie quarterback Joe Burrow was carted off the field with what appeared to be a severe knee injury. He was carted off of the field, ruled out for the rest of the game, and left the Bengals in the hands of backup quarterback Ryan Finley.
Knee injuries are always scary and heartbreaking for quarterbacks, but especially so when that quarterback is a rookie just beginning their career. No one knows that better than other athletes, with many of them immediately reacting to the news.
The first to react was actually on the field, with Burrow’s former Ohio State teammates Chase Young, Dwayne Haskins, and Terry Mclaurin all making a point to encourage him personally.

Joe Burrow was the number one overall draft pick in this summer’s 2020 NFL Draft, which was surprisingly less than seven months ago. He has helped carry the Bengals to a 2-6-1 record, throwing 13 touchdowns and 2688 yards in the process. We are hoping for a speedy recovery for Joe Burow.
